Oboe Masterclass
in Tuscany (Sillico)
8-13th August 2006
with Ruth Bolister

SILLICO

This idyllic Italian retreat is a tiny jewel of a mediaeval village of about 100 inhabitants, situated at 750m and nestling between the Apennines and the Apuan Alps. The air is warm and pure, whilst the atmosphere lends itself to concentrated study and socialising! The excellent quality (largely organic) food, wines and cooking on previous courses have attracted much favourable comment. There are also beautiful walks and views to be enjoyed.

THE COURSE

Is intended for a dozen or so players who wish to improve their technique and musicality over a week of masterclasses with a great performer and teacher.

Comparing notes and socialising with colleagues from other countries is usually found to be a very fruitful exercise also. Players are invited to bring any material they particularly want to work-on to Sillico and at the end of the week some of the repertoire will be performed in concert. The course will be tailored to individuals’ wishes. Participants are invited to dinner at 8pm on 7th August and may arrive at any time that day. They are also welcome to stay for breakfast on 14th August.
